Mourinho offers words of support to Ronaldo
José Mourinho only waited a few hours before calling Cristiano Ronaldo in and speaking to him sincerely and directly. Everything is under control.
The conversation they had was fluid and fruitful, and went something like this: "You are a very important player here. Am I right or am I right? Don't be in any doubt. You have to be sure about this. You are valued and you need to feel appreciated. We are very fond of you and we'll help you all we can. We'll talk when you get back. You know we are here for you and we'll help in any way we can. Get over it and move on," Mourinho said.
Cristiano Ronaldo appreciated his manager's words of support and made it clear that the episode would not affect his performance on the pitch or his relationship with the rest of the players, Marca.com reported.
