Deadlock broken in trial against Armenian actress Anzhela Sargsyan’s ‘man’
The trial against Karen Arayan, the ‘man’ of Armenian actress Anzhela Sargsyan, caught in a porn scandal, is now close to an end, with all witnesses interrogated and the legal evidence being studied.
Karen Arayan’s lawyer, Kima Saryan, told Panorama.am that now she is satisfied with the legal process, but refused to give further details. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for September 27, she said.
Earlier, Panorama.am reported that the trial was deadlocked, with witnesses refusing to testify and Anzhela Sargsyan’s ex-boyfriend, Karen Arayan, having sewn his mouth and gone on a hunger strike protesting against the unfair charges brought against him.
Moreover, Arayan, jailed in Nubarashen prison, sent an open letter to the Armenian President, Prosecutor General, Ombudsman, Justice Minister and NA Speaker, saying that there are no grounds for accusing him of spreading the scandalous photos of actress Anzhela Sargsyan and of uncovering her family secret. The letter said that the whole accusation is based on false evidence and wrongly described facts. Arayan claimed that the action was committed by Anzhela herself, but her computer hasn’t been checked so far.
Karen Arayan, Anzhela Sargsyan’s ex-boyfriend, faces charges of posting the actress’ nude photos on the Internet. He is pleading not guilty to the charges.
