PM says Turkey stands for opening 1915 archives
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed an international conference titled 'Arab Spring and Peace in the New Middle East: Muslim and Christian Perspectives' in Istanbul on Friday, Turkish news website Sondakika.com reported.
Speaking about national and religious minorities living in Turkey, Erdogan noted that different religions professed in the Ottoman Empire had always been viewed by Istanbul as riches, and Istanbul had always been tolerant towards them.
“Ankara has always stood for opening 1915 archives and investigation of the events by scholars. Turkey as a state is always ready to accept its history,” Erdogan is quoted as saying.
