Egemen Bagis on France’s decision to include Armenian Genocide chapter in French textbooks
Turkish Minister for European Affairs and Chief EU negotiatior, Egemen Bagis, has announced that by including a chapter on Armenian Genocide in French textbooks, French authorities continue their election program, preparing for the next election, Turkish newspaper Zaman reported.
“Turkey has nothing to be ashamed of. We are proud of our history. And no one has the right to tell us our history or to use it as an instrument,” Bagis said.
France educates a “poisonous generation,” Bagis noted, adding, “We are hopeful that Hollande’s administration has calculated the price of such initiatives. Following the approach of appreciation of Turkey-France friendship is in the interests of both Turkey and France, otherwise France will suffer.”
