Conte looks to Juventus youngsters, Marrone and Pogba
Juventus boss Antonio Conte is keeping his fingers crossed that young midfielders Luca Marrone and Paul Pogba can impress this term, Football Italia reported.
Asked whether Sebastian Giovinco could be the surprise of the season, Conte instead turned the spotlight on a couple of less experienced men.
“Giovinco won’t be a surprise because I already consider him to be a player of the highest level,” the currently suspended tactician noted.
“Therefore I am hoping that our youngsters Marrone and Pogba turn out to be top revelations for the season.”
This is Marrone’s second straight term in Turin after returning from a loan spell at Siena with boss Conte.
Pogba, meanwhile, moved to Turin this summer after refusing to sign a new contract with Manchester United.
Both are central midfielders, but Marrone has been used in a three-man defence this term given an injury crisis at the back.
