Real set to renew Ronaldo’s contract
Real Madrid wants to start the process of renewing Cristiano Ronaldo's contract, Marca.com reported.
After many months of discussions, the club would like to advance quickly with negotiations between the two parties in order to review and extend the Portuguese star's deal. The first steps were taken last year and the idea is to seal things as soon as possible.
The club seems prepared to do whatever it can to make Ronaldo feel important. One of the issues to be resolved - not the principal one, as acknowledged by the player himself - is his contract. However, an agreement will not be made public until the end of the season. Both the club and player agree that after recent events a renewal - which the club has been working on for several months - could be misinterpreted. Real Madrid would be accused of yielding to pressure from Ronaldo and the Portuguese of forcing the action.
The terms of the new contract are clear on both sides, in regard to both the player's salary and its duration. Real is said to be willing to increase Ronaldo's salary to match other world beaters and reward him for his status as a world-wide star.
