Washington thinks Moscow’s initiatives on Nagorno-Karabakh are a failure
Recent statements by U.S. high ranking officials that it does not make sense to do Nagorno-Karabakh event now indicate that Washington thinks Moscow’s initiatives on Karabakh talks are a failure, Arman Melikyan, former NKR Foreign Minister, told reporters in Yerevan.
According to him, Safarov’s extradition shocked the entire international community, but besides critical statements, no other step has been taken so far.
“The West implements many joint projects with Azerbaijan, first of all, those related to energy carriers. And even if the relations between the West and Azerbaijan become cooler, Russia will benefit from that,” Melikyan said.
Regarding the operation of Stepanakert airport, the former NKR FM said that it depends on the stance of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), adding that the delay in the airport’s operation should not be linked with Safarov’s extradition.
