168 Zham: Vardan Ayvazyan forced to pay $37.5m to Global Gold Mining
168 Zham daily reports that on September 6 New York Federal Court ruled that Vardan Ayvazyan, Armenian MP, member of Republican Party of Armenia, must pay $37.5m to Global Gold Mining LLC.
“Vardan Ayvazyan once was caught in a loud scandal after Global Gold Mining charged him with demanding several million dollars in bribes. Without going into the details of this case, we can establish that this ruling of the American court is aimed not so much against Vardan Ayvazyan, but rather against Armenian authorities, because Vardan Ayvazyan is not a casual figure in Armenia’s government,” the paper writes.
