Artsakh hosts conference on ‘Shoushi - hearth of Armenian culture’
On September 18, Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan received a group of participants of an international conference titled ‘Shoushi - hearth of Armenian culture’ dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Armenian printing.
At the beginning of the meeting, Bako Sahakyan awarded Gratitude Medal to Hayk Kotanjyan, head of the Strategic Research Institute of the RA Ministry of Defense after Dr. Kanayan, for his services to NKR.
President Sahakyan expressed satisfaction over the holding of such international conference in Artsakh, in particular, the fact that it is taking place in the town of Shoushi.
The President noted that issues discussed at the conference are important for studying the role of Artsakh and Shoushi in the regional history, which in its turn affords much more opportunities for understanding the current situation, possible trends and developments.
A number of issues related to foreign and domestic policy of the republic were also touched upon.
NKR Acting Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs, Narine Aghabalyan, other officials were present at the meeting, presidential press service reported.
