Syria’s Assad meets with Iranian FM Salehi in Damascus
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in Damascus on Wednesday, Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
No further details are available at this time.
Iran’s Fars news agency said that the Iranian FM also met with his Syrian counterpart, Walid al-Muallem, in Damascus. The sides discussed regional and international issues.
Salehi’s visit to Syria comes after a trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Iran, Turkey and Egypt on Syria in Cairo the day before.
