Trial against Lieutenant Colonel Vardan Samvelyan detained over attempt to blow up Harsnakar restaurant starts on September 25
The trial against Armenian Lieutenant Colonel Vardan Samvelyan, who was detained over an attempt to blow up the Harsnakar restaurant, starts at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts on September 25.
Samvelyan’s lawyer, Hovhannes Harutyunyan, told Panorama.am that the suspect had admitted to attempting to blow up the restaurant, therefore the case could be designated as expedited.
On the night of July 1, Vardan Samvelyan made an attempt to blow up Harsnakar restaurant where military doctor Vahe Avetyan, 35, and two of his colleagues were severely beaten by the guards of Ruben Hayrapetyan, Harsnakar restaurant’s owner, on June 17.
Samvelyan wore a military uniform and carried a bag, in which two grenades, cartridges and explosives were discovered.
