Armenia marks 21st anniversary of independence
“Yes” or “no.” 21 years ago the answer to this question was unequivocal – “yes.” “Yes” to independence, to the centuries-old dream of Armenian people to live freely and independently.
Unlike other Soviet republics which became independent after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Armenia achieved independence through a national referendum.
This right was achieved in a very difficult period for the Armenian people. We saw a blockade, heavy losses, fight for the liberation of Artsakh. All this is now left in the past. Our country is marking a great holiday, the 21st anniversary of our independent statehood.
We convey our warm congratulations to our compatriots and wish them new victories.
