Gagik Tsarukyan’s son-in-law reelected as Abovyan Mayor
A low turnout was recorded in the Abovyan mayoral election of September 23, with just 29.79 percent of registered voters casting ballots.
Karapet Guloyan, son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, was reelected as Abovyan Mayor, according to initial results from the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia (CEC).
Karapet Guloyan won 10,186 votes, while his rival candidate Artashes Mehrabyan won 1,778 votes. 791 ballot papers were invalidated. No inaccuracies were recorded.
