President Serzh Sargsyan receives world famous pianist Evgeny Kissin
On September 28, President Serzh Sargsyan received world famous pianist Evgeny Kissin who has arrived to Armenia in the framework of the Yerevan Perspectives Festival, presidential press service reported.
The President welcomed the talented performer and underscored that in Armenia he is recognized as a true and great friend, who since after the devastating earthquake in 1988 has been by our people’s side. According to the President, the Armenian nation is grateful to all its friends, among them to Evgeny Kissin and is always delighted to welcome them in Armenia.
Serzh Sargsyan noted that gifted persons make a great contribution to the strengthening of the friendship between the nations. As a token of appreciation of the Armenian nation, President Sargsyan awarded Evgeny Kissin the Order of Honor for the development and strengthening of the Armenian-Russian cultural relations as well as for this significant input in the humanitarian assistance provided to those who suffered in the 1988 earthquake in Armenia.
Evgeny Kissin thanked the President of Armenia for the high award and warm welcome. He also thanked the organizers and supporters of the Yerevan Perspectives Festival, stressing that the Armenian public, which has seen the presentations of the best performers and ensembles, deserves the best music.
