Heritage party Vice Chairman refutes information that Raffi Hovannisian plans to recover his parliamentary mandate
“Let them keep their fantasies to themselves. Recovering Raffi Hovannisian’s mandate is out of the question, therefore, this issue could not have been discussed,” Armen Martirosyan, Vice Chairman of Heritage party, told Panorama.am, commenting on media reports claiming that during the meeting of Heritage party political board on Tuesday, Raffi Hovannisian made a decision to recover his mandate as leader of Free Democrats party, Khachatur Kokobelyan, did not keep his promise to follow Raffi Hovannisian in rejecting his parliamentary mandate.
Yesterday was the deadline for Raffi Hovannisian to withdraw his application of renouncing his mandate, and Armenian Central Electoral Commission (CEC) is due to discuss this issue one of these days. In all probability, at the NA four-day session in two weeks, Heritage parliamentary faction will have a new MP – Tevan Poghosyan.
