Iran Supreme Leader’s representative: Iran slams Erdogan’s Syria policy
Iran slams Erdogan’s Syria policy, Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Mojtahed Shabestari, representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in Eastern Azerbaijan Province, announced during the Friday prayer, as reported by Iran’s Mehr news agency.
Referring to strained relations between Syria and Turkey, the high ranking Iranian clergyman said, “Turkey aims to achieve its goals by causing instability in Syria, but Erdogan’s government must realize that this move will not lead to success.
“Ankara thinks that the U.S. policy is good for Turkey, but Erdogan must realize that first of all Turkey’s economy will be affected if war breaks out.”
