Armenian coach: We have a promising squad and our success will follow
Armenian national football team coach Vardan Minasyan commented on Friday’s World Cup qualifier between Armenia and Italy held in Hrazdan stadium in Yerevan, in which Armenia lost 1-3 to Italy.
Vardan Minasyan told reporters after the match that he has dual feelings – on the one hand, defeat is not something to be happy with, on the other hand, obviously we showed a good game.
“The first thing I want to do is to congratulate the Italian team. Today we showed if not the best, one of our best games this year. We saw a kind of a game we expected to see. We were aggressive, but with the score of 1-1, the situation was the way that the team that would score first would win. I told the boys in the dressing room that I am happy with them. Don’t forget that this is Italy’s team, a team that has good tactics. I am sad now because I felt that we could win, but unfortunately we didn’t,” the Armenian coach said.
We have a promising squad and our success will follow, he added.
