Balloon blast case: Serob Bozoyan could appeal sentence
Serob Bozoyan, who was sentenced to one year in jail in Yerevan balloon blast case, could appeal the sentence within 25 days.
“If he wants, I am ready to help him appeal,” Karen Manucharyan, Bozoyan’s lawyer, told Panorama.am.
On October 17, judge Gagik Poghosyan released the verdict in the case of blast of gas-filled balloons in Yerevan’s central square on May 4 of this year. The court sentenced Serob Bozoyan, the only defendant in the case, to one year in prison.
Gas-filled balloons exploded during a campaign rally in Yerevan’s central Republic Square on May 4, 2012, sending 154 people to hospital with burn injuries.
Serob Bozoyan, who charged the balloons, had been charged with releasing/realizing products that do not meet security standards, causing health damage to two or more people due to negligence.
