One injured in Iran-Azerbaijan border clash
An armed clash occurred on Iran-Azerbaijan border, APA reported.
A group of armed men from Iran violated the state border in the territory of the frontier post in Kurunch village of Azerbaijan’s Jalilabad region, said the report.
Officers of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan (SBS) prevented the violation of the border. One trespasser (Gurbanvenda Ali, 23) was injured in an exchange of fire with Azeri SBC officers and the others fled back into the Iranian territory.
Representatives of Iranian and Azerbaijani border services held a working meeting over the incident.
There is no report on the incident from Iran yet.
On August 17, 2012, an armed clash between Azerbaijani frontier guards and armed men from Iran left one injured.
