Jose Mourinho interested in signing German starlet Leon Goretzka
Real Madrid are ready to rival Manchester United and Arsenal for the signing of ‘the next Michael Ballack’ Leon Goretzka.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Jose Mourinho is taking a keen interest in the future of the 17-year-old Germany youth international midfielder and has sent Real scouts to watch him play for his side Vfl Bochum, joining those of Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson and his counterpart at Emirates Stadium, Arsene Wenger.
Goretzka is extremely highly rated in Germany and has already made himself an integral part of the Bochum first team this season, starting ten games and scoring one goal, which was reported to have attracted the interest of Arsenal and Manchester United earlier this season.
The Bundesliga 2 side are not interested in selling, however, and sporting director Jens Todt made that clear publicly.
“We absolutely do not plan to give up Leon. He should play for Bochum for many more years,” he said last month.
