Karen Saribekyan: We speak of peace, but it does not mean that we are afraid of war
Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev stated during a meeting with Italian Defense Minister that the activities of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group have yielded no results in Karabakh conflict settlement. Abiyev noted that Azerbaijan seriously thinks of “taking necessary action for liberating its occupied territories.”
Panorama.am asked MP, Yerkrapah Volunteer Union member Karen Saribekyan to make a comment on the matter.
“Everybody knows that Azerbaijan seriously prepares for war. Everybody notices that Azerbaijan purchases a large amount of ammunition, breaking all international norms. Who will answer for these actions of Azerbaijan? Why does the international community fail to find an answer to this important question? Azerbaijan already criticizes the OSCE Minsk Group, which is because for many years, they have been ignoring Azerbaijan’s impudence and irresponsible statements,” said the lawmaker.
According to him, there are two ways of solving the problem: peaceful settlement and war. The consequences will be even harder for Azerbaijan, should it, ignoring the opinion of the international community, attempt to resume war.
“We speak of peace, but it does not mean that we are afraid of war. Both Armenia and Artsakh have battleworthy army, let alone members of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union who are currently in peaceful activities but are ready to take up arms at any moment, and not a single Azerbaijani will be permitted to step on our land,” Saribekyan concluded.
