Construction of Meghri hydropower plant marks new phase in Armenian-Iranian economic relations
The construction of Meghri hydropower plant will boost development of Armenian-Iranian economic relations, Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan said in his remarks at the foundation laying ceremony of Meghri hydropower plant, Iranian news agency IRNA reported.
Referring to the perspectives of Armenian-Iranian economic relations, Mr Movsisyan said that the Presidents of Armenia and Iran also have an agreement on construction of a railway and oil pipeline.
The foundation laying ceremony of Meghri hydropower plant took place in Syunik region today. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Iranian Energy Minister Majid Namjoo attended the ceremony.
We should mention that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is visiting Indonesia to attend Bali Democracy Forum (BDF).
