Hraparak: Authorities agree to only one amendment to Constitution
Serzh Sargsyan voiced his disagreement with the recent statement made by Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), Hraparak writes, citing its sources.
He thinks that for CIS states, especially those of the South Caucasus, it is still early to shift to parliamentary system of government. Earlier, in 2008, the same proposal was made to him by his teammates but he rejected it categorically, saying that it needs many years of work and a basis of changes.
As for an amendment to the Constitution which creates new deputy prime minister positions, “it is a different thing. It only requires changing one line in the Constitution, therefore the authorities are ready to go for it,” the paper writes.
