Cavani wants to score more goals than Maradona
Edinson Cavani is dreaming of leapfrogging Diego Maradona on Napoli's list of all-time top goalscorers, Goal.com reports.
The legendary Argentine netted an impressive 115 goals for the Partenopei during his seven-year spell at the club, and Cavani is hopeful of reaching the 52-year-old's tally in the not too distant future.
The former Palermo star netted four times in Napoli's 4-2 Europa League win over Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on Thursday, to take his tally to 79, and Cavani is desperate to keep on scoring for the Serie A side.
"Maradona's goalscoring record? I am slowly closing the gap. I can reach his tally," the Uruguay international told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"It is always a good feeling to score, especially when you're a striker. Napoli are not Cavani-dependant, though. I scored four goals, but my team-mates gave me some great assists."
