Sociologist: We should expect more active steps from country’s president
Armenian President, RPA Chairman Serzh Sargsyan has the highest rating among probable candidates for president, director of Sociometer center Aharon Adibekyan told a news conference in Yerevan, presenting the results of public opinion surveys held in Armenia.
Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan is second on the rating list. If he nominates his candidacy, according to the sociologist, he will be followed by leaders of opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (HAK) and Heritage party. They will be followed by ARF Dashnaktsutyun’s candidate, who will be either Vahan Hovhannisyan or Armen Rustamyan.
“If Tsarukyan does not run in the elections, Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian will be second or third because he has stronger positions than HAK leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan,” said the sociologist.
RPA leader takes a leading position among the presidential candidates thanks to his active political steps, especially in the recent period, Adibekyan said.
“However, we should expect more active steps from country’s president,” he added.
