French Prime Minister willing to encourage entrance of French companies into free economic zones in Armenia
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault in Paris on Monday, presidential press service said.
President Sargsyan noted that France is the second largest investor in the Armenian economy and stressed that development of trade and economic ties and growth of trade circulation are among their primary tasks.
Serzh Sargsyan and Jean-Marc Ayrault spoke of the importance of Armenian-French Business Club that was established last year and further expansion of its activities. At the same time, they highly appreciated the planned programs of the French Development Agency in the fields of agriculture, private sector development and water economy, which are aimed at Armenia’s progress.
The French Prime Minister expressed willingness to encourage the entrance of French companies into free economic zones in Armenia.
The interlocutors discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, including involvement of leading French companies in the field of telecommunication, in establishment of infrastructures connecting our country’s north and south and programs aimed at further development of Armenia’s pension system.
Serzh Sargsyan and Jean-Marc Ayrault also discussed further expansion of Armenian-French cultural and educational ties as well as possible assistance of France in development of relations between Armenia and the European Union.
