Armenian community of Istanbul extends helping hand to Syrian-Armenians
The Armenian community of Istanbul did not stay indifferent to the problems of Syrian-Armenians who face a difficult situation due to the Syria crisis, Agos Weekly of Istanbul reported.
A group of Armenians living in Istanbul came up with an initiative to assist Syrian-Armenians who have fled to Armenia, the newspaper said.
Kenan Yenice, one of organizers, called on Istanbul Armenians to send warm clothes to Syrian-Armenians who are now in Armenia.
“Winter is approaching and the air temperature is low. Armenians who fled Syria did not have time to take warm clothes with them. We will collect warm clothes and send them to Armenia,” he was quoted as saying.
