Prisoner who sewed his lips shut stops hunger strike
Public Relations Department of Penitentiary Department of Armenian Justice Ministry released a statement on the prisoner who had announced hunger strike and was going to do self-mutilation.
“On November 16, a mobile phone was found and seized from Artak Abrahamyan serving imprisonment at Nubarashen prison and having 5 previous convictions. Abrahamyan announced hunger strike and sewed his lips shut. Several minutes later he filed an application to stop the hunger strike, asking to transfer the seized phone to one of his relatives,” said the statement.
