Political expert: Main struggle is for Prosperous Armenia Party
On the threshold of presidential elections in Armenia the main political struggle is for the future of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), political scientist Armen Aghayan told reporters in Yerevan.
Three political players fight for PAP, according to him. “The first player is Serzh Sargsyan, the other is Robert Kocharyan and the third is opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (HAK) which is leaving the arena. This fight rather reminds of trade.”
Republican Party of Armenia wants PAP to quit the game and accept Serzh Sargsyan’s dominance, while Robert Kocharyan wants PAP to play for himself, said Aghayan.
“There is also fight inside Prosperous Armenia Party, with the party seeking to be an independent player,” the expert concluded.
