Zhoghovurd: Kocharyan hopes Tsarukyan will win
Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) held a regular meeting in the premises of Yerevan Brandy Company owned by PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan three days ago, Zhoghovurd reports.
According to the paper, "the meeting was heated, with the party members being uncertain about what to do. Some of them insist that Gagik Tsarukyan should be a candidate for president, while some others think that they should not take a risk. Tsarukyan is silent. The point is that Tsarukyan’s being a candidate for president is in the interests of both Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan: Sargsyan needs to defeat a candidate who has a strong image, while Kocharyan hopes that only Tsarukyan will be able to defeat Sargsyan.”
At this moment Tsarukyan is not inclined to run for president, Zhoghovurd’s sources say.
