Turkish Studies expert: Diaspora needs to develop strategy of work with international community
Turkey has further intensified its preparations for the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, with the Turks announcing that they are going to work with the Armenian Diaspora, Turkish Studies expert Artak Shakaryan told reporters in Yerevan, adding that Armenia should also prepare for the year 2015 and be active on the international arena.
The Diaspora should also organize itself, and develop a strategy of work with the international community, according to Shakaryan.
“I am happy that many books on Armenian Genocide are published in English, which present the Armenian Genocide to other nations,” said the expert.
As to the Armenian-Turkish relations in general, Shakaryan said that the current situation is even worse than it was before the signing of the Armenian-Turkish protocols.
“Currently Armenian and Turkish diplomats cannot communicate even in a third country as the Turks will present it as a dialogue,” he concluded.
