Romario celebrates Menezes sacking on Twitter
Romario has celebrated the sacking of Mano Menezes with a damning message on his official Twitter account, Goal.com reported.
The Brazil coach was fired on Friday after failing to convince the national team hierarchy he was capable of revitalising Selecao's fortunes.
And the 46-year-old former striker was quick to give his thoughts on the breaking news, leaving his 608,787 followers in no doubt as to where his allegiances lie.
"Guys, today is a historic day in which Brazil must light fireworks and party," he tweeted.
"At last the incompetent [Brazil Football Confederation] CBF board have done something good for Brazilian football. Regarding Mano, good riddance."
Santos coach Muricy Ramalho, Corinthians boss Tite and Luiz Felipe Scolari have already been touted as possible candidates for the now vacant post, but Romario's choice would be none of those three.
"The ideal choice would be Rai," he added.
