Turks thank Deputy PM for appearance of television: before, they only listened to Armenian radio
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc has been hosted by TV show 45+ on TRT.
Among other issues, Arinc addressed the Kurdish issue.
He drew attention to the fact that Turkish television now broadcasts programs in Kurdish.
Erdogan’s deputy noted that it is a significant achievement and said, “There was nothing of the kind 10 years ago. When we created this possibility, people came up and said to us, ‘We are congratulating you on coming to power. Before, we only watched Iranian TV and listened to Armenian radio stations. But now we watch our television and listen to our radio.’”
Arinc went on to say that they are those authorities who give a possibility to learn Kurdish as an optional subject in comprehensive schools two days a week.
