ANC initiative on setting up ad hoc commission to investigate March 1 events adopted on one condition
Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs today adopted the initiative of opposition bloc Armenian National Congress on setting up an ad hoc parliamentary commission to investigate the March 1, 2008 events on one condition proposed by RPA and Orinats Yerkir parliamentary factions: the voting on the draft decision by ANC should be postponed by up to one year. However, the authors of the initiative can put this issue to vote at any moment within one year. The authors of the initiative were also offered to remove political statements from the justification of the draft decision.
Author of the initiative Gagik Jhangiryan agreed to the proposal of the parliamentary majority and told reporters that he will again submit the draft decision to the Committee after the 2013 presidential elections.
