The Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan discussed with the head of Azerbaijan Migration Organization problems the Iranians are concerned about, Iran’s semi-official news agency Fars reported.
During a meeting with head of Azerbaijan Migration Organization Fereydun Nabiyev, Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen pointed out to the one-sided lifting of visa requirements by Iran for Azerbaijani citizens and demanded solving problems with entering the country faced by Iranian students, tourists and businessmen living in Azerbaijan.
Commenting on corruption in Azerbaijan, Mir Ghasem Moumeni, head of Iran-Azerbaijan Friendship Union, said recently, “Studies show that 70 percent of Iranians, entering Azerbaijan through Astara and Bile Savar customs points and refusing to give bribes, are badly treated by Azerbaijani customs officers. Besides, road police officers under various pretexts impose fines of between several hundred to two thousand dollars on the Iranians who enter Azerbaijan by car.”
