Karen Kocharyan: ANC has less chances of victory
Gagik Tsarukyan’s decision not to run for president gives opposition ANC new possibilities and purely from political point of view it is more natural for opposition bloc Armenian National Congress to nominate its presidential candidate, political technologist Karen Kocharyan told Panorama.am when asked to comment on the upcoming presidential elections.
According to him, ANC is sure to nominate its presidential candidate. “Though I do not rule out that this candidate may be Levon Ter-Petrosyan, nevertheless, I think that ANC will nominate another candidate.”
Karen Kocharyan noted that irrespective of the fact who will be ANC candidate, this political force has less chances of victory this time.
“First, none of ANC members has political weight and charisma like Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Second, ANC lost too much time. It is one thing when you start working from mid-September. It is another when you start it in mid-December, putting forward another figure,” the political technologist added.
