Viktor Soghomonyan: I do not think Robert Kocharyan will run for president
Viktor Soghomonyan, Head of the Office of second Armenian president Robert Kocharyan, does not think that Robert Kocharyan will run for president in the 2013 presidential elections, Soghomonyan told Mediamax news agency today in an interview.
“I have never heard the second president saying that he wants to run in the elections. More, he has repeatedly asserted the opposite. I do not think that he will run in the upcoming elections. But he will voice his opinion about the current political situation in the near future – he plans to accept one of the offers and give a small interview,” stated the Head of the Office of Armenia’s second president.
The following candidates have announced their intention to run for president: New Times Party leader Aram Karapetyan, National Self-Determination Union leader Paruyr Hayrikyan, specialist in epic Vardan Sedrakyan, People’s Party leader Tigran Karapetyan, Marxist Party of Armenia leader David Hakobyan, Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian. Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will support incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan.
