“ANC is sure that at the ANM convention to be held on December 22 Levon Ter-Petrosyan will announce that he will run for president,” the 168 Zham daily reports.

They say that the issue is solved by 99%. But why in ANM convention and not in ANC, after all, Ter- Petrosyan is not only ANM candidate but ANC candidate too.

This is explained by the fact that candidacy of Levon Ter-Petrosyan has not been discussed as Tsarukyan’s candidacy was more probable, and besides there would not be enough time to call a convention. It is also possible that they do not call ANC convention in order not to show what is left from that structure which was founded in 2008. Regardless the claims of ANC members who assure that Ter-Petrosyan will run for president, many people believe that Ter-Petrosyan will not do that and Levon Zurabyan will be the candidate chosen. The thing is that if the latter would run for president the forces that are part of ANC would fail it by using their right for veto. In that way the forces within ANM and ANC that would stand with L. Zurabyan would protect him and the others would be labeled as “forces cooperating with authorities”.
