Media: Ankara, Baku turn into gathering place for anti-Iranian forces
Southern Azerbaijan National Liberation Front is to hold a conference in Ankara, the Persian-language website of GunAz TV said.
According to the website, Southern Azerbaijan National Liberation Front will hold a conference on “Role of Southern Azerbaijan in the Turkish world” in Ankara on December 24.
Referring to the National Council for Azaris that was recently set up in Turkey, Iranian news website Tabnak.ir said that despite Turkey’s slogan ‘zero problems with neighbors,’ this country openly intervenes in the internal affairs of its neighbors, turning into a gathering place for Iranian separatist forces. According to Tabnak.ir, the National Council for Azaris comprises former Azerbaijani and Turkish state officials, who have declared themselves representatives of Azaris of Great Iran.
Azerbaijani website Contact.az reported that in his remarks during a regular session of the World Azerbaijanis Congress held recently in Baku, WAC chairman, member of Azerbaijani Majlis Sabir Rustamkhanli spoke about Turkish-speaking Iranians, noting, in part, “Unfortunately, no books are published in Northern Azerbaijan (i.e. the Republic of Azerbaijan) about the national, cultural, social and political rights of our compatriots living in Southern Azerbaijan (i.e. Iranian Azerbaijan). Baku has panic fear of Tehran regime, and therefore the Azerbaijani authorities do not raise at international level the issue of violation of the rights of our compatriots in Iran.”
