Scandal erupts around Safarov’s photos in Azerbaijan
Serious scandal erupted with one of the Azerbaijani news sites, Gafgazinfo.az, as an employee of the mentioned news site took photos of Ramil Safarov, when the latter, accompanied by two bodyguards, had come to bid last goodbye to his deceased friend at Central Clinical Hospital of Baku.
Thus, Safarov’s brother phoned the editorial site, caused a scandal, called the chief editor a "spy" and complained to the Ministry of National Security for the improper security level of their under wardship 'hero'. Indignant by this kind of behavior, editor of the site Elbrus Erud published an open letter addressed to Ramil Safarov where he accused his brother of rudeness and bad manners.
“When organizations, set up for your protection, froze their activities, we didn’t keep silent. When I tried to know the opinion of the officials about you, they calmly replied, "Forget about Ramil’s case," the editor writes and confesses that after his return to Azerbaijan and the pardon the politicians, MPs, businessmen, who thought him to be hero, promoted Safarov’s heroization.
"I believe that in Hungary you did as a glorious Turkish warrior would do," Elbrus Erud writes and notes that in response to the support and protection, he became a victim of the shocking behavior of the members of the family of Azerbaijani "hero".
Speaking about the day of Safarov’s release and pardoning Azerbaijani journalist recalls that it was again Safarov’s brother named Vugar who dispersed the journalists who had gathered at his house, shouted at them and ordered them to leave Safarov alone. "I was saying that Ramil Safarov was one of the victories of our current government, Ilham Aliyev‘s in particular,” the author writes.
“An employee of my site that is working at Gafgazinfo just for 10 days, ran into you at the Central Clinical Hospital and learnt that you were there because of the decease of your friend. My coworker, with his hands trembling, took a few pictures on his phone and sent it to editorial office. He was delighted, as a journalist, who loves you. We gave a short news, together with photographs, after which your brother called to editorial office and called me a "spy", insulted and swore, saying as if, the publication of this news endangers your security and for this Ministry of National Security… I will not write the continuation as my moral upbringing does not allow me to repeat his words,” complains resentfully the editor-in-chief.

In connection with the extradition of Safarov to Azerbaijan, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan announced a termination of diplomatic relations with Hungary.
