“If I run for president, I know exactly what I will do. I will make my decision within next 8-10 days,” former NKR Foreign Minister Arman Melikyan told reporters, referring to the upcoming presidential elections. 

“The point is not that I expect major surprises. The thing is that new circumstances may emerge that have to be taken into consideration in case I decide to run in the elections, or will be a basis for me not to run for president. Anyway, if I decide to run for president, I have clear-cut approaches that can never depreciate my political principles,” Melikyan stated.

“There could be new developments of events and foreign signals that will have a significant impact on the domestic political situation. The signals could first of all come from Russia. I would not like to depreciate the influence of Europe but in this case, the United States could have more to say. I suppose that in any case the elections will be comparatively peaceful and will proceed without major excesses. This, however, does not give absolute guarantee. That is, there is a danger of foreign influence, so we should be attentive in this issue,” the former NKR FM concluded.
