L. Aguletsi: they concentrate on food now
In the past Armenians used to keep traditions better, the New Year traditions in that number. Today people forget about the festive significance of New Year day and mainly concentrate on food, said Lusik Aguletsi today at the press conference.
“Before they have been keeping fasting during the first 6 days, today they don’t even know the meaning of those 6 days. Then come Easter, Christmas which is the most beautiful and space Day. People very often forget about this,” she noticed.
According to ethnographer Armenians have had a wonderful New Year which they have celebrated in eastern and Western Armenia differently. Today almost nothing has been preserved, there is no national mentality. “Whereas we were to develop what we had,” she stressed.
