Karen Bekaryan: European integration remains priority in Armenia’s foreign policy
The rate and depth of European integration in 2012 essentially differ from the previous years, the evidence of which is the number of mutual visits and the agreements signed, head of European Integration NGO, political scientist Karen Bekaryan told a news conference, summing up the year 2012.
The expert reminded that a number of senior European officials visited Armenia and Armenian President and Foreign Minister visited Brussels in 2012.
“An agreement on visa regime facilitation with the EU was signed recently and the signing of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement will be very important for Armenia," Bekaryan said.
"In many cases, our society does not imagine that the agreement relates to every person. We will get a possibility to export goods. The quality of our goods and certification should be brought in line with the European standards, and this will be in the interests of all of us,” he added.
According to him, European integration remains a priority in Armenia’s foreign policy.
“European integration is not only foreign policy. It is the issue of country’s domestic development,” Bekaryan concluded.
