Poll: Serzh Sargsyan to win up to 72 percent of votes
The 2013 presidential elections will be held in one round because the incumbent President will win up to 72 percent of the votes, Sociometer center head Aharon Adibekyan told a news conference, presenting the results of a pre-election poll.
The poll shows that four of the presidential candidates have highest approval ratings: incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian, Liberty party leader Hrant Bagratyan and National Self-Determination Union leader Paruyr Hayrikyan.
“Raffi Hovannisian will come second with 21 percent of the votes. He has a high approval rating but he is little probable to win,” said the sociologist.
As for Hrant Bagratyan’s electorate, according to Aharon Adibekyan, there are many unclear issues here.
“It is unclear how the radical opposition will act - whether they will participate in the elections and which of the candidates they will vote for. I think in all probability most of the voters supporting the radical opposition will vote for Hrant Bagratyan,” the sociologist stressed, adding that he thinks that the radical opposition will not vote for Raffi Hovannisian.
