Catholicos Karekin II offers Pashazadeh to meet in Artsakh
Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II has offered Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh to meet in Artsakh, on the border, priest Vahram Melikyan, head of Information Services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, told Panorama.am.
“During the South Caucasus religious leaders meeting in Yerevan in November 2011, a proposal was voiced to hold the next meeting not in some other country but on the border. The sides welcomed the proposal but no exact agreement was reached.
I must note that recently Primate of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, meeting the instruction of Catholicos Karekin II, conveyed to visiting Azerbaijani spiritual leader Allahshukur Pashazadeh the proposal to meet in Artsakh, on the border, with representatives of intelligentsia of both sides attending,” said the priest.
