Manchester United interested in Chelsea's Frank Lampard
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is interested in signing Chelsea's Frank Lampard on a free transfer in the summer, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The 34-year-old confirmed over the weekend that the Blues will not be renewing his contract, ending his 12-year association with the club. This has opened the door to speculation of an impending move but the midfielder also specified his desire to see out the remainder of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard has attracted the interest of a number of clubs in the United States and is seen as an ideal replacement for the departing David Beckham. It is believed they're ready to offer Lampard a substantial wage packet in order to convince him to cross the Atlantic and embark on a new adventure.
