We are going to take the eight million election pledge which is demanded by the Election Code and to pay it in 48 hours, today after the session of the CEC said to Panorama.am Armen Vardanyan, representative of Narine Mkrtchyan, who is nominated candidate at the presidential elections.

Narine Mkrtchyan was not present at the CEC session. 48 hours were given to Ms. Mkrtchyan for paying back the required 8 million AMD. The time will be up on January 10 at 14:00.

To question why the election pledge was not paid before, Vardanyan answered with smile, “Because we had no election pledge. Now we try to find the means.”

- How are you trying to find it Mr. Vardanyan?

- By having meetings with the businessmen. There have been suggestions of making donations, but we don’t want to do that taking into consideration the social conditions of the people.

- If there were not enough means why did Narine Mkrtchyan decide to nominate herself?

- She didn’t decide it within two days. This is a work of several months. We had had some agreements, the businessmen, however, refused to give money on the very last day. We now work with other businessmen. But we have noticed one thing the businessmen are rather afraid and do not want to take part in any political process.

- What do you mean by saying afraid?

- Not being involved in anything.

- You hint at something or there was such a precept.

- I don’t know whether there is such precept or not. I cannot make such a statement. They say that they cannot get involved in all these staff.

- Who are those businessmen, would you give some names in order not to call your statement baseless?

- I cannot give names, write that mystatements are baseless…
