P. Hayrikyan: Aharon Adibekyan causes more harm than good
“I consider Aharon Adibekyan as my friend, and he knows about it. I am not hostilely disposed towards him, but he consistently works over presenting Armenia as a totalitarian country and demoralizing the people,” said at the meeting with the journalists Paruyr Hayrikyan, the head of Union for National Self-Determination touching upon the surveys of the head of Sociometer sociological center Aharon Adibekyan according to which Serzh Sargsyan would receive around 70% of votes during the upcoming presidential elections.
According to him the presentations of results of sociological surveys all over the world serve for propaganda purposes and are one of the most powerful tools of influences over the people. However, Adibekyan was to know that the surveys are considered optimal when the respondents are more than 2000 people.
“He simply dares to note that thousand people have participated in the survey and continues presenting the numbers. This is antiscientific. I was not included in his surveys two weeks ago, then he started to mention my name, now he speaks about some percentages. I am not speaking about my rating. You should simply be careful not to causes more harm than good to any of the candidates. The percentage of voters who will vote for current president may reach not more than 35,” Paruyr Hayrikyan stated.
To question of Panorama.am what is the percentage of voters who will vote for Paruyr Hayrikyan according to him, P. Hayrikyan answered, “Two weeks ago Aharon Adibekyan told that Paruyr Haayrikyan has not percentage at all, but the votes for Hayrikyan are unpredictable. Then he said that Hayrikyan has 3% of votes. 3% is obviously more than zero, but is less than 51%. I trust in our people’s conscience and reasoning. I am optimist,” Paruyr Hayrikyan summed up.
