World marks International Thank You Day
International Thank You Day, which falls on January 11th, is regarded as one of the most “polite” days in the world.
It is good to remind each and everyone that words of gratitude are of great importance because they really possess magic qualities: they bring people happiness and help them to be attentive to one another.
When we arrive in a foreign country, the first thing we do is find out how to greet the people we meet and of course, how to thank them in their language. The words “thank you” even if they are pronounced with an accent, magically improve both the speed and the quality of service. Why does this happen? There’s nothing material in these words. And still, they can perform miracles, psychologists say.
Gratitude helps one feel that there’s a need for him (her). Besides, while pronouncing words of gratitude, people want to stress that they are showing their respect for others. This is how people establish contacts with one another.
Gratitude is a very important element of psychological comfort, and the most important thing here is that people should be sincere while pronouncing the “magic” words. Only in this case will it work.
