Republican MP: No other candidate has passed way of Serzh Sargsyan
We all should admit the fact that no other presidential candidate has passed the way of Serzh Sargsyan, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary faction member Hamlet Harutyunyan told a news conference in Yerevan, commenting on the upcoming presidential elections.
According to him, with Armenia facing a serious geopolitical situation, none of the candidates, except the incumbent President, is able to resist current challenges.
“Statements that the incumbent President is out of competition are not correctly interpreted. But those making such statements mean both individual qualities and the past way of the candidates,” Mr Harutyunyan explained.
The incumbent President has passed through the ordeal of war. Currently, our country faces the threat of war, so the President of Armenia - who is the commander-in-chief of the army - must have experience and past way so as to be able to resist the challenges facing the country, the MP concluded.
